Remembering...

This picture was taken on September 4, 2005 on the beach in Santa Barbara. Each cross represents a fallen soldier. The markers along the side represent key battles in the war up to that point in time. According to the sign posted, there were 1,886 dead, 14,265 wounded U.S. military personnel, and 100,000 Iraqis dead at a cost of $1 billion per week.

Today, only twenty months later, the number of U.S. military that are dead has doubled. The estimate of the civilian population's loss is six times the previous amount. And, based on the most recent war funding bill, the plan is to fund $100 billion through the end of September. If so that means the cost of the war is now at approximately $5.5 billion per week with no end in sight.

We are not safer. We have only escalated the world's contempt for us and given motivation to the "terrorists" who wish us harm.

Being stuck in another country's civil war quagmire even if we were the cause of it is not making us safer, nor them. It's not fair to the fallen and it's not fair to the families that sent them off to war.

Impeach Bush for lieing to the American public in order to get us into an unjust war with Iraq, and bring our troops home - not necessarily in that order.

Don't forget the Dickster. He has to go right along with the Shrub. He's evil incarnate. The man thinks himself omnipotent. He scares me. I wonder if they set that pacemaker a setting or two high?

I greatly disagree.

Glad you are safe and living in a nation that bestows the greatest gift upon its citizens - freedom.

I'll still respect you in the morning. LOL
