It's all my fault

I realized yesterday that I owe the citizens of Florida a huge apology.  I can't keep it a secret any longer.  I must confess.  I think all these hurricanes that have been blasting the state are my fault. Before you start throwing eggs at my journal allow me to explain.

I grew up in Florida.  Well, at least my formative years were spent there.  We moved there from Pennsylvania when I was about three years old.  We returned to Pennsylvania when I was in 6th grade.  I haven't been back there since.  It's been at least 25 years now.  While I was in the Army, my father moved to Florida.  I had intended to live with him when I got out of the Army so that I would be in close proximity to my boyfriend who was still stationed at Fort Bragg.  The relationship with said boyfriend fell apart and I decided to stay in Texas.  I'm not really sure why or how but I haven't seen my father since my brother's wedding in Springfield, Illinois some 16 or 17 years ago.  I decided at the beginning of this year that I would take one of my vacations this year and go see him in Florida.  I received my two remaining approved vacation requests yesterday and that's when it dawned on me that maybe it was my fault Florida has been assaulted so violently by Mother Nature.  She's glad I left and doesn't want me to return.  I say the heck with her!  When have I ever paid attention to my own mother?  I'm coming anyhow.  I just need to decide whether I will be there in November or December.  I'm leaning towards December.  Isn't hurricane season over by then?

Disclaimer: Picture is unrelated to entry. It's from my recent trip to Illinois. Picture was taken at sunset on a river whose name I forget.

It's not your fault! I personally think it's Mother Nature's revenge for the 2000 election, and a warning for the 2004 version ;)

LOL - I thought the picture was of a flooded neighborhood near your father.  whew!  Hey, 16 or 17 years is a mighty long time.  You even beat my record on that one.  I'm sure the citizens of Florida are relieved to know who's to blame for all the recent devastation.  Have a great time.  I think they've gotten their hurricane quota for a few decades at least.

LOL! you crack me up.  love that disclaimer too, lol.   I spent some time in Florida, so I feel bad and know a little of what there going through.... a little, not much.   I am hoping that Ivan just dissappears somewhere over the ocean.

December or November are both good times to go. :)

So...it IS your fault!  Well, Mother Nature can just
get over her bad self.  Go to Florida and show her
who's boss!  LMAO!!!!
I think hurricane season is over by December.  You'd
be safe then.
Ivan, stay away from Alabama you brute!!!!
Lovish!

I'm with the hippie.  Don't you take any flak for Florida!  and I am surmising that the river you feature is the Rock River.
Mumsy can be brilliant with the map quest.

LOL I would think it was my fault too if this were my situation. J/k. Early december might have less travelers. Week after thanksgiving three weeks before christmas. Not that I know anything about traveling since I have never in my life been on a plane but I just gotta act like I know what I'm talking about. LOL

I would normally agree with the Hippie, but in this case I think everything that is happening in the entire world is your fault.  But try not to feel too guilty about it. ;-) Albert

LoL.. you should be safe in December.  And the Florida thing isn't your fault - it's mine.  Cuz I keep saying, "Better them than us."  LOL  [Funny.. but not funny, I know...]  When you live on the Gulf Coast, everyone seems to hope it goes "the other way" - whichever way that doesn't include where you live.  LOL

I'm seriously praying for those people, though.  Gotta check in on Connie this morning.
