A bit of this and that

I haven't been much in the mood for writing here lately.  I've got a lot on my mind.  Sometimes that makes for great journal fodder and other times it just leaves me flat.  I started digging through some old photos that I have trying to find inspiration and came across these photos from 2002.

A while back ScreminRemo had pics up on his journal of a fire in Arizona.  I said that I would post these and never got around to it. So, here they are - finally.  The pics are from the Prescott National Forest in Arizona after a fire had swept through there and decimated the forest.

These pictures really didn't capture the feeling that I was hoping to capture.  It was very surreal.  As I drove through the forest, I felt like I was driving through a nightmare.  These pictures capture the blue sky.  However, in some areas of the forest it was so dense with charred trees that it felt like I was in black and white land.  The air was heavy with the sweet smell that comes from burning green wood.  I haven't been back there since my mom moved back to Texas. I wonder how the forest has faired since then.

It's good to see you post again.  I always smile when I get an alert with your name on it.

Fires are a natural part of life in the forest.  Should you go back there sometime, you will probably be surprised at how quickly life returns.  Nature heals herself amazingly.  Lisa  :-]

I am the same way some days, I sit and stare at my screen wondering what to write about.  Not that my life is ever not busy, but sometimes you get sick of writing about your daily life and want to put something in that is intelligent or at least funny.  This is when I get "lost" and can't figure out what to write!  I think what you wrote about here and the pictures was a very good entry.
Hugs and love, Lisa

Did you see the movie, "Always?" It has a lot to do with forrest fires and of course a love story (Richard Dreyfus)? It was just a movie and they made the devistation seem so real. I don't think I'd want to see it. Must have hurt you a lot.
Will check out that journal.

In 1988 I lived in Yellowstone Park when it was burning.  The nightly display of fire crowning the mountains was the most beautiful sight I have ever seen.  The decimation left in the wake was horrifying.  On a brighter note, in 1989 the wildflowers were the best they had been in years.  From fire and death came rebirth.

Funny I was just reading a few things trying to find some reason for the way things go somtimes when I ran into this...Your journal,I was amazed too hear how you feel about things..... I've found the same things hindering me ..Then the pictures of Prescott,Az I grew up there and wow I didn't realize it had burned like that, but its been so many years since I've been back to revisit the past I so needed to run from.....I feel sometimes that I'm the only one who feels that way ...Its nice too know, I'm normal and we're all just trying to make it though it all...Prescott high class of 85.....But I'm liveing life by the the beach in Huntington beach...
