Puzzled

With all the crazy crap that's been going on, I've been a "little" behind on my journal reading. Okay, more than a little. I've resigned myself to the fact that I will be permanently behind by 20 to 30 entries on just about everyone's journals. So, I thought I'd put it out there and let you know that I haven't stopped reading your journal, if I've been reading it all along that is, I am just behind. I'm tired of feeling guilty for being behind all the time. So, I decided to just resign myself to the fact that I will be forever behind and accept my circumstances.  I hope this doesn't lose me any journaling buddies. But, now, I'm wondering if it has indeed done that. I went to pop in on someone tonight and their journal is gone. I tried emailing them and AOL returned a message saying that the screen name didn't exist. Does anyone know what happened to KHay6809 of Digital Digression?  Is there anyone else missing in action that I'm not aware of? I know I haven't been very motivated to write but I'm still here and I'm not going anywhere.

I guess you know that Penny (On The Tip Of My Wings) isnt
journaling anymore.  Yeah, you probably knew that.
Hey, don't worry about my journal!  Just stop by on occasion
and say hi.  You dont have to read all the entries you missed.

No worries Robbie.  I'm forever behind too.  It's just the way it goes when there are so many journals...and so many new ones on the scene every day.  Plus, it's still summer.  We all seem to be less frequent in J-Land.  No info here on KHay6809.  Sorry.

With so many fantastic journals it is definitely hard to keep up!  Don't worry, people will understand.

You need to chill.  Maybe you ought to turn off your alerts (oh, wait, they're not working anyway).  Anyhow, whenever I go out of town or feel overwhelmed, I turn off my alerts so I don't know what I'm missing.  When I feel better, I turn them back on and start from fresh.  If I feel like reading back entries I read them, if not, I'll just read the most current one.

Hey Robbie! It's me - KHay6809 - just under a different screenname. Let me tell ya what happened ~ my computer was acting really WEIRD so I had a friend of mine check it out for me. Turns out there was all kinds of surveillance software that had been downloaded onto my comp without me knowing about it. I was informed that everything had been compromised: user names, passwords, EVERYTHING for ANYTHING I did online!!!!! I suppose I could have just changed my passwords but I was way too SPOOKED for that ... so I deleted everything. No more Digital Digression journal ... no more KHay6809. I've been spending the morning trying to e-mail people to let them know ~ was just about to e-mail you, then popped on over here to read your journal for the day ~ and WOW ~ my disappearance warranted mentioning! ;-) Thanks so much for your concern!
~Kelly

You need to relax.  Journals should be fun, not an obligation.  I always love reading your entries and your comments in my journal, but your real life needs to come first.  If it doesn't, we don't have anything to journal about!  Read at your leisure.  I won't forget you, and don't sweat getting behind.

You are not the only one behind.  I was getting so many alerts it was freaking me out because I couldn't keep up.  I cut them off for a while then turned on just a few at a time.

Take care of yourself.

We're reading each others' minds here-- I just got off a mad binge of trying to find Kelly myself after returning from the green giant hills!  (sigh-- It just got prettier.)
And you're coming to Illinois-- you saw your gilt-edged invite, no?  I am totally serious!  But if ya can't get down south-- let's regroup and think where we might meet!  I miss Penny more than a little.  let's get on her butt.  (somehow, I don't think she will cave into mumsy-whining, however.)

Hi Robbie,
I can relate to this entry. I LOVE the journals..and I read more then I comment...just because I can read them at work on my breaks, but I cannot comment at work.... it is a long story, but my work has blocked access to every site that has a person log in section. So there is NO AOL, no Yahoo, no Hotmail...but to my amazement I can read the journals....go figure. So my Dial up at home is so slow...I don't get many comments in...and my family is giving me a hard time about computer time...not to mention that our life is like a whirl Wind right now. No guilt, no pressure...but I do feel sometimes I don't give to the other journalers as much as they give to me. I have met some really great people here and I want to stay connected, but sometimes life just takes over. I love your journal...so when ever you update it is always a pleasure for me to read. You are the coolest.
Take care. Update when you can. OH, and glad you found your friend. That is a really weird feeling to have someone just disappear like that.

We've lost quite a few journalers this week. Sad stuff. And I think everyone has been a good bit behind lately.  I was looking at my journal's comments during the winter, compared to the summer, and they're down drastically.  My own comments and reading has gone down.  I think as the weather cools and more people are trapped indoors, everyone will get caught up again.  No worries. No guilt.  Don't worry about the old entries - just start fresh with the newest entries and only do it when you WANT to!  Obligation takes the fun out of it.  You haven't lost friends - WE LOVE YOU!!!  :D

Yesterday, my alerts went on the blink... It was actually a relief.  Last week, while I was doing my big event, I racked up like fifty new entry alerts, and then took three days to wade through them all.  And I only get alerts from about ten or twelve journals.  I LOVE reading the journals, but when there's actual LIFE happening, I have to let them go for a few days.    I'm pretty sure that my J-land friends understand, since we all seem to have the same problem at one time or another...  Lisa  :-]

Robbie, I am the same way as you are when it comes to reading journals.  I read the alerts that come through for me, but don't always have the time to comment.  Then I feel guilty, then I post an entry saying that I am sorry I haven't commented on journals lately.  It's a never ending cycle and if something happens in your daily life, it's enough to throw it all into a tailspin.  So, take it easy, read when you can, your true friends and loyal readers will still be here, even if you don't comment in their journals!  Afterall, we are here because we find what YOU write interesting!!
Hugs and love, Lisa

I think that we all know that each other are "out there" even if we take breaks.  Real life should come first.  I get guilty too, but first & foremost this should all be fun, not a chore.  Bummer to hear about Khay... I liked her journal a lot.  --Albert

I wish you would stop feeling guilty.  Just...stop it.  The  journals can be a very positive thing in some ways, but they can also be a real time thief in others, and nothing should get in the way of real life. Slomo is dead on ~ when it isn't fun, it's an obligation, and no one wants to be THAT.  So relax, enjoy and go whenever & wherever you feel like it.  No worries.  :)

I think I came to this realization, I don't know....a few weeks ago.  I just can't do it.  I still feel guilty about it, but what can you do?  Find ways to journal and visit, and let it still be fun. :)
take care.
