Wallowing

Balance is supposed to be my theme this year. I'm fighting it today but trying real hard to keep it as my focus and get some things done. What I really want to do is wallow in my separation anxiety (read: depression at leaving family and friends), eat Godiva Chocolates (yeah to the thoughtful co-worker who got them for me), read journals (okay, so I've done a little of that, but thought I was being good by not leaving comments. Ha! I’ll be back.), watch a movie (Amadeus-that will complete my top five so I can finally change my sidebar), and sleep (Does anyone need an explanation on that one?). :-D

What have I done? Washed dishes. Took care of some work related emails and phone calls. Took a shower. Partially unpacked. Suitcase still sits in the middle of the floor though. Took out the garbage. Made a shopping list for the grocery store. And, now I'm writing this. Not quite enough done and the day is almost over!! Erggg!!! Off I go, grudgingly, to the grocery store. But, be forewarned, I'll be back. I've got tons of pictures yet to share. I loved this one of the cactus. Speaking of which, Mom I need Suzi's email so I can send it to her. :-D

Balance and focus are good themes for me this year too.  I need more of both in my life.  I don't know why, but 2004 was a strange year... In 2003, I had focus, contentment, organization, and peace.  Now I just feel untied.  Unstable.  I don't know what caused it.. all I want to do is fix it.  I haven't even done my laundry yet!   You're one step ahead of me.  Agggg.  LOL

I've been home since Thursday night.  3 of 5 suitcases unpacked...some laundry done.  I have been to the store (once).  I'd say you're doing real well by comparison.  Welcome home!!

(However, I am caught up on journals....first things first)

I've got a huge list of...things to work on this year, but balance isn't one of them.  I'm way too prone to going after thing whole hog...and right now, even that seems preferable to what I've been doing lately, which is a whole lot of not much.  Lisa :-]

Glad you had a good trip.  It always takes me a day or two to get my body, mind and heart back into the swing of things after a trip- especially a trip that has been good!  I have mounds of laundry to do abd will find any excuse not to do it.  I like the focus on balance.....I am Libra and that is our thing.....we freak out when we are out of balance.  Hope your transition back into work and life goes well for you this week.  -Kari

My goodness, girl.  You're talented with a camera!  Those pictures are gorgeous.
And snow is South Texas?  Who would have thought....

You mentioned Godiva...my all-time favorite.  Honey roasted almond truffles...YUMMY!!  Mom sent me some for my birthday because we have no Godiva in the town I live (a catastrophe, I know!!).

I'm sorry your initial arrival in Texas wasn't easy, but it sounds like things settled down nicely once you got there.  Glad you had some time with your family and friends.  It's hard being far away from home sometimes, isn't it?

I've missed you!

Love,
Bridgett
