Tis da season

Last year I made the big confession that I hate Christmas. I dread it every year. The only thing that I look forward to is my yearly trip to San Antonio to see my mom and my friends. The stress of the season overtakes me but this year I'm going to try my best to be of good cheer. So, I found something that might interest others out there and it's FREE. My favorite word.

It's a screen saver that you can download from the Smuckers website. It flashes pics from the "Miracle on 34th Street" movies, both the original and modern version. I love this movie and "It's a Wonderful Life." They are probably the second best thing about Christmas. The first being my trip to San Antonio, of course.

And, if you need a gingerbread house idea, check this ancient entry out of one I posted earlier this year. Ho Ho Ho Christmas shopping starts this weekend for me.

I am right along with you in not liking Christmas AT ALL!  Wish December would come and go without a peep.  Sigh!  But, I do love that movie and can't forget "White Christmas".  Love that one too!!

I like christmas, only because of family and because of my kids.   I'm not a kid anymore, so the magic of the season for me is kind of gone.  But, I do love seeing it in the eyes of my children.

I think it's perfectly fine that you don't like christmas very much.  I know a few other people who don't really enjoy the holiday either.

really though....who likes the guilt of the holiday?  There is a lot of guilt associated with Christmas, which I can't stand. :p

Anyway, good luck this year keeping the bah hum bugs away! :D

I really don't enjoy Christmas either; I have to fight depressioin during the whole season.  I think it's a common feeling, only not everybody wants to admit it.  "It's A Wonderful Life" is probably my favorite movie of all time!  We have some things in common.

I have always loved Christmas until the last couple of years...Honestly I think I am depressed at the State of the World.  I want so badly to go back to a simpler more peaceful time...

I haven't even considered Christmas this year in real life...Its like I've lost the whole spirit of it...Right now I am not even really revved up for Thanksgiving...I just want to get it over with...

I love those movies too........ahhhhhhh to go back in time....

I just bought that DVD and also "It's A Wonderful Life." I had also gone through a few years where I had no Christmas Spirit at all. Then suddenly about two years or so ago, it returned. Why? I have no clue. LOL! : ) I do try to keep Christmas more simple and more to it's meaning. That could be the reason.

I love Miracle on 34th Street. There are certain movies that always pick me up when I'm feeling down, and that's one of them.

I saw The Bishops Wife for the first time (gasp!!) ever last year and loved it too!  Right up there with the two you mentioned, and I love Its A Wonderful Life so much.

Went back and read your confession-I'm not into Christmas either-painful memories, fake jolly, jolly, materialism etc. Last your we were both very sick, and did nothing at all- it was wierd, but good. This year we will do very little again- It feels healthier to me where I am now. Blessings, Margo

My friend and I just admitted to each other yesterday that we don't like christmas. It isn't that we don't love the meaning, but things have gotten way too far out of hand. Paula

Love the picture :) It's been hard for me to get into the holiday season for the past couple of years but I'm trying like you are.

I love Thanksgiving....but Christmas can get to be so stressful... I love Miracle on 34th street... I searched long and hard to find the orignal black and white version. I absolutely hate when they color the black and white versions of movies. I prefer the black and white...that is the way it was made and the way it was meant to be seen... IMO!!! have a nice day... I'm kind of relieved to read this....I've been debating whether to divulge in my journal how much I dislike Christmas.  I was afraid I'd been seen as the grinch of j-land.  Now I see...I'm not ALONE!!!  This makes me feel much better.
