Name your poison

I have this little pocket internet book that I received with a computer textbook for one of my classes. It claims to have 4001 sites listed so I thought I'd flip through it and see if I could find something interesting. A section called Free Stuff caught my eye. But, of course.

One of the sites listed was for Jelly Belly Gourmet Jelly Beans. I thought what kind of free stuff could I get there - a coupon maybe for half-off? But, I went to the site anyhow. Right on the main page there was an offer for free jelly beans. So, I clicked the link filled in my name and address and voila in the mail today arrived my very own one ounce supply of free Jelly Belly Gourmet Jelly Beans. There wasn't a bunch of crap in the envelope either, just a little pamphlet listing all of their fifty flavors and some fun recipes that you can create by combining the various flavors of the beans. Who wouldn't want to savor the taste of  Tiramisu for a measly 16 calories? You can, if you combine 2 Cappuccino Beans with 1 A&W Cream Soda Bean, and one Chocolate Pudding Bean. Or, how about a Banana Split for only 24 calories. Just combine 1 Top Banana, 1 Chocolate Pudding, 1 Crushed Pineapple, 1 Strawberry Jam, 1 Very Cherry, and 1 A&W Cream Soda for your low cal banana split treat.

Not much for sweets? They even have something for the more adventurous. They are called Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Bean. Apparently, these are the beans preferred by Harry Potter. I don't know much about Harry Potter but he has an interesting taste bud, if the choice of flavors are any indication. Some of Bertie Bott's flavors are Spinach, Sardine, Ear Wax, Dirt, and even Booger. Ewwwwww!!! Hmmm, I wonder what recipe you have if you combine 1 Spaghetti, with 1 Sardine, and 1 Spinach Bertie Bott Bean. Would it taste like pizza? Ha, I think they already created it with the Vomit flavored bean. But, don't take my word for it, go check out the site yourself. And, hey, if you don't want your free Jelly Belly Beans, send them my way. My favorite is Buttered Popcorn.  What's yours?

Oh no, now you are on every junk mailing list in the country. I hope you didn't give them your phone number.  Just kidding (sort of).
Enjoy your Jelly Belly Gourmet Beans.

So, I have to cram six jellybeans in my mouth at the same time to get this "banana split" sensation?  How weird would THAT look to someone passing you on the street?  Good little diversion.  I needed it, tonight!  Lisa  :-]

Jelly Belly has been giving away their beans over the internet for years! I love them. My favorite is "Juicy Pear". Mmm mmm! I know they are books for "young adults", but really! You must read the Harry Potter series. It's super entertaining and clever. :-)

I'll eat almost any of them.  LOL  Popcorn is one of those surprising flavors!!  Yum.

Jelly Belly is the only real jelly bean [imo].  You can have all my buttered popcorn.  I like the traditional watermelon.  Cool about the recipes.  I guess when I finally give up coffee beans, I could replace it with jelly beans. :P

And, I haven't read comments yet so I'm not sure if it's been mentioned:  Harry Potter doesn't necessarily LIKE all the bertie botts beans.  Some are good.  And some are just nasty.  It's the chance you take being a wizard.  We've actually had a house full of Bertie Botts beans - and I just couldn't do it.  Vomit and Booger were just too intimidating.  You know it's bad when you see an 8-yr-old spitting out every last morsel and scraping his tongue with his hands. [and Jelly Belly is making a fortune from these batches of yuk!]  lol

I love buttered popcorn and for the first time a few weeks ago I tried cinnamon toast flavor. Also good. This is the first time I have wondered to your journal. I have only been blogging away a few short months and am making my way around...don't worry I am one of the good witches. Only here to share your thoughts and say hello. My name is Nelle. Hi.
