Robbie's Ramblings

Another pic from the dogpark of Freee's dog Hunny. It's my tribute to Scalzi's Weekend Assignment. I won't be doing the assignment this weekend because I currently don't have any pets of my own. And, all the stories that I think of from previous pets seem a bit depressing since they are no longer pets.

I took the cloud picture the other day. I loved the way they reflected off the building.  I cropped it just a wee bit and shrunk it down to a manageable size but I didn't do any kind of other editing because I want to see how it appears here, as is.

There's a story of controversy behind this picture that I wish I could share but it has to do with this guy at work. Alot of crazy crap has been going on at work that I wish I could share here. I used to do it and just change the names but after what happened to Peachy, I'm just too chicken shit to go there anymore.

I've been in a horrible funk for the last couple of weeks that I just can't seem to shake. I am hoping that it will pass before this weekend is over. I hate when I feel this way because I really can't pinpoint what is bothering me. It's just this constant underlieing grumble in my soul. I try to reflect on the things I should be grateful for which usually helps but it's fighting the good fight this time.

However, I've had a lot of fun distractions here in J-Land. Oh yes, I have been playing behind the scenes. You see, one of our journalers went on vacation and left his blog unattended. Shame on him. Several of us are over there having a party. But, he was kind enough to not leave us entirely high and dry. He has started a vacation blog. Well, at least I think it's him. But, who really knows the culprit behind those shenanigans. Maybe I do. But, I'm not telling unless someone offers up a juicy bribe, that is.

I've also joined with some other journalers to write a Community Storybook. I'm not a writer want-a-be, but I thought it would be fun. Each of us take turns adding to the story. The story is unfolding in such an interesting way. It's not even the kind of story that I would probably pick up to read in the real world, but I find myself hanging on every entry.

Well that's about it...time to get ready for work. Yeah!!! It's Friday.

Great pics!  I have been enjoying the Community Storybook as well.  Was glad you made the Ryan guy have some feelings lol.  With it being my name and all have to watch it.
Tricky :þ

Hang in there. The funk will lift.  Sometimes what helps me is to write long hand, totally stream of conscious, not letting myself go back and read what I wrote until I finished. Editing is verboten.   Just write whatever drifts into your mind, and do not read it until you're through.  Sometimes the heart of the matter emerges.

Ok Robbie, so how do we get you out of this funk? We could tell you dirty jokes, but I know you probably know more of them then I've even heard. I could tickle you but this darn screen just stopped me and I think I brused a  knockle. I know! I could give you the winning lottery numbers!!  But they already won and I don't think you could sneak in late with them. A new pet!  That would do it, but hey, that would put more responsibility and work load on you with one more mouth to feed. You could go out on the town, party it up and maybe find a new friend. If you were a guy, Id tell you to go get layed and that would get you out of your funk but I honestly don't know how that idea works with women because emotionally, it might cause more damage then the funk. Ok, I'm at a loss to help you here. What  can I do to help you get out of this funk?  Will a hug help? Hugs Lanny

Hey Robbie, sorry you're singing the blues--and to not even quite know why--that I can't imagine. I can loan you a couple of reasons if you'd like...?  I came here because I'm trying to hide inside nice people's blogs from the images of the day... dogs, buildings, anything will do--just not a flag-draped coffin!  :-/  Albert

Ps: someone's mad photoshop skillz have been widely praised over at the Screamer's!

oh, I know funks....hopefully you will be out of yours soon.
the only pet I have is a fish...and they don't photograph very easily.
and btw....LOVE that picture.  It's a great "perspective" shot. and I love how the clouds appear to complete themselves in the refelction. very cool, great eye robbie! :)

Great pictures.  Hope you get out of your funk soon.  I've been kind of strange all week too.  I saw the vacation blog, and hope to have an entry included (who could pass up the chance to zing the screamer???)

What a great picture! I just love pictures of the sky. I've been reading the Community Storybook too and it's getting so exciting! I can never wait to see what happens next, everyone has done such a wonderful job. Hope you cheer up and have a good weekend :)

You might be confusing funk with being out of school.  no nagging deadlines, no cramming for finals... that, umm... "okay, so now what?" prickle under the ribcage.

Hunny is so beautiful!
I love your clouds! I think sepintx has done that also! Neat!

Huny is such a sweet-looking doggie! But on to more pressing matters. I find that when I'm in an unexplainable funk, the best thing for me to do is just be completely quiet. Sit in a room with no tv or anything else on and think of absolutely nothing. Thinking of nothing is actually alot harder than it sounds. Anyway, after a few minutes of thinking of nothing, usually a few of the things bothering me the most just pop right up to the surface & I go from there. Give it a try. :-)

I saw the screaming remo blog and it's damn funny. Question though, what the hell happened to peachy? The link just took me to her blog but didn't indicate a particular entry.

I'm sorry you're blue.  Sometimes the best way to deal with the blues is to resist trying to fight the feeling and let it be.  Big changes are taking place in your life.  A short period of melancholy is not unnatural, and after a while your mind and body will lift again.  So ~ don't fight the funk...go with the flow and eventually it will pass (yeah, I know...not everyone can wallow in a good funk the way I can.)  Creativity is often sparked by melancholy though...

I hope you feel better soon.

P.S. ~ a pox upon you, though!  I clicked those links and got lost for 3 HOURS!  SHEESH...(when last I looked there were 68 bottles at the party...and I think someone was halfway through an 87 part story about Cher...)    :)

Hey, Robbie, don't let that funk get you down!  You've just graduated!  Celebrate, Girl!  This is a time for JOY.  Of couse I, myself, am known to delve deeply into funkdom on a regular basis, so I completely and totally understand that taking someone's advice to just snap out of it is not nearly as easy as it sounds...  That having been said, SNAP OUT OF IT!  lol  Seriously, I hope the funk cleared out with the gorgeous clouds in the picture and you're feling better, now.  (Getting things re the employee at work straightrened out a bit will probably help, too.)  I'll think good thoughts and send 'em your way.  :-)  - Lisa

I don't know what happend to Peachy, but if it makes you scared to "go there" then don't.

One of the best ways to get out of a funk:  Borrow Freee's dog for a day.  A puppy that cute is bound to cheer you up a bit.

AOL-J is a nice distraction from the blah of life, isn't it?  ::smile::  I need to live a little more simply, I think.  I want things to settle down.  I think better that way, feel more creative, feel more grounded, hopeful, happy.  I miss that feeling.  I have a lot of good stuff going on, but it's *too* much overall.  I need life to SLOW down.  Seriously.  Hope that's all you're going through too.  Press on.  And feel better soon, hon.

Robbie, was it you who put the Screamer in the heels and dreadlocks? He's gonna love it when he comes back and sees what you've done with the place.

I'm sorry you're in a funk. Feel the funk. Be the funk. Embrace the funk. Just like Gidge says. You have to roll around in it, get good and dirty, then find something fabulous to do. I often think that a healthy dose of restlessness is the inspiration for change. Make it a good one.

love the cloud pic and Freee's dog is very sweet!
Reading the Community Storybook is a lot of fun. :)

So many things going on in J land.  Community storybook, writer support group, even shenanigans of the naughty kind, oh my!  Not to mention Scalzi weekend assignments and your questions from the "book".  I'm surprised we all have time for anything else, lol.  Eh, all in good fun.

Stopping by to say "Hey!".  That cloud picture is pretty neat and required some staring at to really get the full gist of it.  Sorry to hear you are having some "controversy" at work and it's too bad you can't share it here, but as they say, nothing is "private" on the internet, so you are smart not to.  I'm glad you are enjoying the Community Storybook just as much as I am!!  :)
Hugs and love, Lisa
