Goofing Off - Better known as procrastinating.

I know I said I wouldn't be posting until Sunday. But, I have a paper to write for class tomorrow and..... well....I've already discussed my sentiments regarding writing. So, I've been putting it off by reading journals and goofing off. I promise as soon as I hit save, I'll go write. ::::hanging head:::: Maybe. ;-)

Scalzi has an assignment on his journal which is actually something I've been avoiding. But, at least his is a little easier since it's only 25.  As such, I pulled the list out that I started and finished it.  So here are 25 more things about me including the 1 I already shared that makes 26. Probably 26 too many!

1.   When I moved into my apartment, it was the 47th time that I have moved.

2.   My last place was a housemate situation. It’s the longest I have lived anywhere and lasted a little over 4 years.

3.   I’ve never had surgery, nor been hospitalized.

4.   I’ve never broken a bone.

5.   I’ve only had stitches twice in my life. Once when I had a mole removed and once when I had a tooth extracted.

6.   I’ve never had an IV even though I know how to start one and it was required that we practice on each other to learn.

7.   I cringe at saying the above “nevers” because I fear that it will make them happen.

8.   I don’t consider myself superstitious but yet I think by speaking something I will jinx myself.

9.   I’ve taught Sunday school.

10.   I’ve studied the Bible with people and baptized them.

11.   I’ve been to a “titty bar”

12.   I’ve been in a porn shop.

13.   I’ve seen male strippers and even dated one once.

14.   I now consider myself Agnostic

15.   I took 6 years of ballet and jazz tap lessons as a child. I only remember how to “Shuffle off to Buffalo

16.   I took piano lessons and played the oboe. I quit both after a couple of years. I wanted to be in the Flag Corp instead. I thought that was cooler than band.

17.   I’ve never been pregnant. I love kids. I always wanted kids just didn’t want them too young. Now, I consider myself too old.

18.   I’ll probably adopt some day even if I do it as a single woman. But not yet, I still don’t feel ready to have kids.

19.   I wrote something for this entry but erased it because it just felt too personal.

20.   I think that’s why I’ve avoided doing the 100 things list. It became too personal. This all seems too personal.  But, I’ll post it anyhow.

21.   I have a tattoo on my shoulder. I got it when I was 18. I still consider getting another one.

22.   I was in the Army for 3 years and never passed a PT test because I can’t do push-ups. I can do lots of “female” push-ups, just not the “male” kind. Yet, I’m stronger than most women. I think it’s in the legs though.

23.   I had the chicken pox twice even after having been vaccinated for it. The second time I had the chicken pox I also had the measles with it. The doctor laughed because he had never seen such a thing. He jokingly called it the Turkey Pox.

24.   I hate discussing my grades or GPA. I don’t like competing because it makes me feel like I’m not doing good enough, even though compared to many, but definitely not all, I’ve got a kicken GPA.

25.  Now for the one I’ve never shared before: I hate my image.  I have very few pictures of myself as a result.  I look in the mirror as little as possible. The less I look the better I feel. I’ve always been this way.

Whew! Hopefully, that will be enough and Scalzi will come up with a different assignment, or I'm packing up my toys and going home next time. ;-)

Great list, I've definitely learned some new and interesting things about you!  You're quite a cornucopia of contradictions, but fascinating, just the same.

P.S.  I've never been to a "titty" bar, but I just might tomorrow.  Long story.

done #12 too, but not #11.  I hope one day you will be comfortable with the physical you.   Kristi

Robbie, I dated a male dancer too!!!  I love it!!!  I had so much fun, and hope you did too.  And I wanted to add that you are not too old to have kids.  Jeez, people nowadays are having their first kids in their 40's.  Great list!!!

I don't freak out about getting too personal in my journal.  I've been writing "personal" journals for so long, it just comes out.  I don't think there's anybody reading these journals who is going to do anything evil with personal information about me........is there....?

I've been thinking of the Scalzi assignment & hee-hawing about it.  Your list is really good & insightful.  Oh yeah, belated <hugs> on the double dose of chicken pox & measles.  I know you are a pretty person because of the way you write.  Everything comes from within out.  -=)  And congrats on the "kicken" GPA! -=D

I love to read these! I'm glad you wrote 25 things about you. I haven't been able to do the 100 things either. Not even sure if I can do 100. :) I feel like I know you better. maybe...I'll try to do one someday soon...
have a great weekend, hon!

Robbie! See, this is why I adore you.  Vulnerable, honest, witty, real.  Great list.  I love it.  I think I'll do it too.  I wanna know more about #19.  You've moved quite a bit.  I thought I moved a lot in my life.  But if you've moved 47 times and you actually lived in one place for 4 years, that leaves a lot of times you moved more than once a year.  Makes me sad to think about #25.  I just think you're beautiful... if you could see what I see... :) xo

Hi Robbe!  I want to know waht #19 was, too... and what is the tattoo of?   And what's wrong with your image - you're beautifull!!!

I love your list.  It's sweet and sassy.

And dang Robbie, your image looks wonderful. You look swell in the photo with your mother? I think it was.  Do I have to prove to you by flying out and asking for a date at your door? I would except there this is the gal I already have um, well, ah, look a month ago couldn't spell relationship, now it seems I'm in one?

I'm glad you did this list and I love # 19!  Too clever!  And I'm surprised at #25.. wouldn't have thought so although this is exactly the way I feel about myself.  Pics of me get deleted pretty fast from my journal.  Hmm, since everyone is doing this list thing, I guess I'll have to take the plunge.  Drat, I hate self-examination issues!  ¤Holly

I didn't come here the past few days becuse you said you weren't going to write. On a whim, I come here to find not only an entry, but one that tells us more about you. I like these kinds of entries because even tho they are pick and chose by the writer, they still let us peek inside just a little. Thanks for sharing and please don't pack up your toys and go home. Hugs Lanny

Robbie, Robbie, Robbie. Have I taught you nothing? You are gorgeous, inside and out. You need to start believing it. Thanks for sharing the personal stuff.

those are great krobbie.  Why do you feel like you need or want to hide?? very intriguing.  and I feel honored to read such "private" things about you.  thanks for sharing them. :)

Well, no offense but screw Scalzi. Like this hasn't been done a thousand times already in J-Land. I'm yawning now.

I very much enjoyed your list! Numbers 9 ~ 16 are particularly compelling ~ Ronnie, you sound like a fascinating woman of varied talents and tastes.  And as far as number 25 goes; well, honey, I hate to tell you this, but you're quite lovely. It's a gift...enjoy it!  :)

Gee, you already have 20 comments, and that's usually my rule not to even bother leaving a comment, but for you, Dear Robbie, I will!  Thanks for sharing these very personal things about you.  The last one that you never shared with anyone, I think holds true for many of us.  I honestly don't look in the mirror anymore either.  It comes with age I think, we don't even bother looking anymore, just put the makeup on where it's supposed to go and get on with our business.  No use looking and pondering any new lines or things you don't want to see.

And, as far as those push-ups, I hear you!  I can't even do one either!  And, I have strong arms, so I think you may be right, it's in the legs!  Yeah, that's it!  Hee-hee!
Hugs and love, Lisa

You have an amazing journal.  Your thoughts and cares are apparent.  You have such a strong will, which is so neat to see since many do not hold them.  Your journal is definitaly an asset to the community, peace be unto you, and have a wonderful night.

You sound like you have moved as many times as I have   john

LOL...You don't often see 9, 10 followed by 11, 12! LOL. Great list and great lady! Love, Carly :)

Isn't it funny that by reading the 25 things about each other we find so many similarities?  I've moved on the average, once a year.  Thats 2t times!  I hate looking at myself in a mirror.  Makes getting your hair done a challenge.  I do not look until its over.  And we are quirkyalones....that's neat!

Have you beat on #12: I've worked in a porn shop. Well, it mainly sold "leather goods" and toys. New to AOL-J land... I dig your ruminations so far. --Albert

You don't like your image???  True confession of insanity, there!  You're beautiful, woman!!  What's your tattoo of??  I like the 25 things a lot better than the 100 things.  I never had the patience to read through a full 100 things about anyone, even people I adored. LoL  Interesting stuff here, Army girl!  :D

Scalzi's genius is that he gets people to share things they ordinarily wouldn't and thus create bonds with each other.  I loved your list!  I also loved the fact that I have things in common with such an obviously brilliant woman.  And please look in the mirror more often!!!  You've got nothing to be ashamed of there.

Okay....first of all.  You may not realize this...but you're a beautiful woman, Robbie.  Inside and out.  You always leave the sweetest comments in my journal, and you make me smile when I've feeling low.  For that...you'll always be one of my heros.

Secondly, I played the oboe too!  I make a point of telling you this, because it's not a common instrument that many people play.   Wasn't easy either, was it?  I had to teach myself.

Lastly, you're never too old to have kids.  Especially these days when women are waiting to start families.  It's such a wonderful feeling, Robbie.  I hope you won't write it off just yet.  There's really nothing like it.  And the end result is the most amazing, breath-taking thing in the world.  Plus...you'd be such a great mommy!

Have I rambled on long enough yet??  <grin>
