Lately, I am finding it difficult to write. I feel like the cat has stollen my tongue, proverbially speaking, of course. It's not really writer's block because I've kept a list of ideas, some of which I've intentionally held off writing about until the expanded character limits arrived. So now that I have them, I am finding it hard to put the words down on paper. I don't know if it's because some of the topics are kind of heavy and I'm all about avoiding the heavies in life. Or, because there has been so much heaviness around J-land the past week or so, that I feel compelled to be of good cheer and lighten the mood. But yet cheery-ho words fail me too.
I decided to turn to The Book and ask it where my voice has gone. Its answer:
When you seek to know it, you cannot see it. When you are silent, it speaks.
---Cheng-Tao Ke
The Book has spoken. As such, I'll shut-up now and catch y'all on the flip side.

I get that way sometimes too, its the AOL-J funk, just means you'll come out big and bad when the funk has lifted :-) Your quote is so true, Ive been trying to say that for a while now, but I'm just not quote material, so I come out sounding all wonky :P

Brilliant. I can relate. I think we all can. No rush. Let yourself have your process. Write what you want - when you want. Heavy or light. Whatever suits you :)
Silence helps you to listen to your mind and your heart better. =D
I know what you mean. I felt the funk in J-land and have responded with everything I write feels forced.......oh well, Spring is right around the corner.

I think we all reach that point where nothing flows. Just ride it out and don't force it. I know I've been like that for other reasons but the need is still there. Take care and hugs Lanny
I'm definitly buying that book now. It sounds brighter than most of the people I know...LOL
Pretty wise book. I need one just like it. I think at some point, we all get to this point. I know I do...often. I have "heavies" that play on my mind too, but I either feel like I don't have the energy to write it and what's the point anyway. Just rest, take a break, and just be Robbie. Regardless, whenever you feel the heavies or the cheeries, I'm here for you.
Love you, Penny
I am definitely feeling this one Robbie. You just do what you have to do for now and when the silence lifts just beckon us with your call. We'll hear it. See ya then

As such, I'll shut-up now and catch y'all on the flip side.
The flip side? Is that the land of the opposite? Where no means yes and Gregg loves to chase any skirt that walks by. lol!
Hope things are well with ya. Be good.

Sometimes the clouds define the silver lining.....we'll be waiting for your voice to return. xxoo
Come back when you feel ready. We'll be here waiting with open arms! =)

I think when writer's block hits you, you just have to NOT WRITE for a while. This is hard in journal land. Everyone's afraid that if they take time off, they'll lose their readership. But this isn't true. What do we do? We get caught up on our other journals and anticipate your return. Enjoy your silence. We'll be here when you get back. :)
robbie - just wanted to stop by and say hello. thanks for visiting my little purple corner of the world this morning. -lindalou
I rather like the sound of that book. The Cheng-Tao Ke quote puts me in mind of the Desiderata;"Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.."
So I'll shut up now, and we both can listen... :)
Like the Tao!! Thks,,
