Checking In

I am absolutely beat! It's been a challenging and busy week both at work and at school. However, I had a little pick-me-up today when I paid for my Cap and Gown rental. Yeah Baby! I'll be walking the line in June. Woohooo!!!

I was actually kind of worried that my application for graduation didn't make its way to the right people. Yvonne and Kevin kept asking if I got this or that in the mail regarding graduation and I'm like Nah--ooo!! So, I was beginning to worry but wasn't really worried because I just didn't have time to, if that makes any sense. Plus the fact that my time is so limited that if something doesn't look like a bill, I just throw it in a pile to check out later. The pile is about a foot deep now. Eeekkk!!!

So while I was at the bookstore buying 6!!!! freakin books for my next session of classes, I checked out "The List" and my name was written on it. I felt like I was peaking at Santa's list of good and bad girls and boys. But, lucky me, for once I wasn't getting coal! Woohoo!!

Too tired to write anything meaningful tonight so I thought I would share an email that I received from my friend Jules today. Sad to say, I only got one right (#2). Give it a go and I'll post the answers later.

Brain Teasers:

1.   A murderer is condemned to death. He has to choose between three rooms. The first is full of raging fires, the second is full of assassins with loaded guns, and the third is full of lions that haven't eaten in 3 years. Which room is safest for him?

2.   A woman shoots her husband. Then she holds him under water for over 5 minutes. Finally, she hangs him. But 5 minutes later they both go out together and enjoy a wonderful dinner together. How can this be?

3.   There are two plastic jugs filled with water. How could you put all of this water into a barrel, without using the jugs or any dividers, and still tell which water came from which jug?

4.   What is black when you buy it, red when you use it, and gray when you throw it away?

5.   Can you name three consecutive days without using the words Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday?

6.   "This is an unusual paragraph. I'm curious how quickly you can find out what is so unusual about it. It looks so plain you would think nothing was wrong with it. In fact, nothing is wrong with it! It is unusual though. Study it, and think about it, but you still may not find anything odd. But if you work at it a bit, you might find out."

Congratulations soon-to-be-Graduate! Exciting! You deserve it.

Oh...thanks a lot. It's 1:30 AM and I'm glued to your brain teasers. I've figured out #2 and the 2nd #3. I *think* I've got the 1st #4. And I have a thought about the 2nd #4. But I'm mostly stuck on them. Grrrr... I'm too tired!! LOL

FREEE: I just woke up and I’m reading your comment thinking what the heck is she talking about 1st and 2nd? I looked at my entry and saw my error. Proof positive I am indeed journaling while asleep. That was not part of the brain teaser. I will fix the numbers. LMAO!!!

GREGG: I’m going to sleep! Then after a month I’ll probably get bored so I’ll start filling up my schedule with other things. I’m not one to sit still much. I want to go to Race Car Driving School and take up Kayaking. In addition, I’d like to start working out on a regular schedule. I’ll probably go hiking and bike riding a lot more than I do now. I have several trips that I would like to take this year. I still need to decorate my apartment and buy a new car. In addition, Kevin and I are planning on going to Europe next year. I have a major project at work to complete too. Then…..I’ll get my MBA. Yup! There’s definitely more school in my future. My intention is to start on my MBA fall of 2005. But, first I need to have some fun!!!!

VINCE: Thanks! It really is a big deal to me. I’m excited like you wouldn’t believe!

RC: No revenge here. I’m not a vengeful person. Plus, you’ll notice. I only got one right myself.

Oh, Dear, Lord! I am terrible with brain teasers! I'm interested to see the answers (Will we find out?) Sounds like you've been very busy. Oh, but btw...everything you write is meaningful :)

Robbie...brain teasers are just NOT for me. LOL I read them all and can't figure any of them out. (Some brain I am, ey?)

I'm proud of you, by the way! Buying that cap and gown is a really big deal. Enjoy every minute of your graduation. You've earned it. And party hard afterwards. =)

Congrats on the graduation news. I'm sneaking this in while cleaning, so I'll have to pass on the brain teasers for now. I'll be back to see the answers...

awww... sorry to hear you're so beat, Robbie. That school work is HARD work. And expensive work, too. Eeek. Watch your brain juice and your money... they have a way of leaking away when it comes to school. LoL

Well, I see the brain teaser went over not so well. So I figure I'll deliver the one person who answered the privilege of knowing the answers now. I'd say you did quite well WHATSNOTINUSE, or do you prefer LIFE OF A SIDESHOW FREAK. <---What's up with that? I tried to find your journal but its no longer in existence. I'd love to know what the life of a sideshow freak is like. Maybe, I could have alternate career opportunities that I didn't even realize existed.

1. The third. Lions that haven't eaten in three years are dead.

2. The woman was a photographer. She shot a picture of her husband,
developed it, and hung it up to dry.

3. Freeze them first. Take them out of the jugs and put the ice in the
barrel. You will be able to tell which water came from which jug.

4. The answer is Charcoal.

5. Sure you can: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow!

6. The letter "e", which is the most common letter in the
English language, does not appear once in the long paragraph.

I'm late to this entry, but those sure are good brain teasers!

And congrats on your pending graduation, woohoo! You definitely have reason to be proud. =P

4: Coal
5: Yesterday, today, tomorrow.
6: No letter e anywhere.

Fun!
