"Family Affair" Nostalgia

I don't know if she was my first doll but my earliest recollections include her. I loved Mrs. Beasley. She had a pull string on her back and she talked to me. She was Buffy's bestfriend on the show "Family Affair" and she was my bestfriend too!!! Oh where, oh where did my dollie go? I lost her along the way.

However, great news abounds!  Ashton-Drake has brought my beloved back to me but I think inflation has done a doozy on her sticker price.  I just might have to break the piggy bank and get her anyhow for the nasty price of $89.99. However, you too can have her for 4 easy installments of $22.50.

In addition, according to the website: "A portion of the purchase price of this doll will benefit Childhelp USA children's charity, of which Cheryl Ladd is an official Ambassador." So, it's not all bad.

It's your turn.  Tell me. What was your favorite toy/doll as a child?

I was one of the lucky boys who saw the light with Cabbage Patch dolls. His name was Troy. I still have him, but he currently resides at my father's house. I took him everywhere with me (the doll, not my dad.) I made up fake vacations to take him on. He was a lovely traveling companion!

I had a teddy bear with a porcelain doll face when I was a baby that I slept with until I was 4. She was either lost or thrown away when we moved, sigh.

How adorable. I was still playing with dolls when I was 13 and still proud of it. Dolls never fail to make me smile. Love that picture.

I had a Mrs. Beasly doll too! I also loved the show Family Affair with Buffy and Jodie. I was so jealous they had a butler. The doll I loved the most was Yellow Dog. He was so well-loved, he turned mustard brown, but I kept him for a very long time. My mother saved him for me, and I think he's still in a box in the garage. I also had a talking chimp named Chester who would say cute things like, "Let's go to the zoo and see the wild children."

I had this tiny little black and white bear I named Boo Boo. I LOVED that little bear. I couldn't go to sleep at night without my Boo Boo. I've often wondered where he ended up. He's probably in a box somewhere. I really ought to find him. He's pretty rough looking these days though. lol

hmmm. don't remember. :( I do remember she smelled strongly of plastic when I first opened the lid to her box that contained her. her legs forever in the position of sitting. blonde curly hair. I loved that doll. Don't remember who she was though, except mine. I LOVED family affair. I wish I could catch a re-run here and there...
