Make Someone Happy

I think that happiness is within every single person's reach. These are some of the things I think, do, or believe in order to lead a relatively happy existence.

I am far from perfect.

Some days, I'm a bitch and feel like the world is falling apart. But, I have more good days than bad. I don't have a worst day of the week and I don't live for the weekend.

I am in control and not controlled by anyone or anything. I might be guided in some respects but ultimately I show up and make the choice.

My smile might not stop the world on its axis but it may make someone's world better. So, I try to show it often and without cause.

I believe that sometimes all it takes to make a difference for someone is to have someone believe in them. I try my best to let those around me know that I believe in them. (Oh, how I hope I am!)

I consider that even the smallest action of mine, one that maybe I am indifferent about even, can have a major impact on someone, or the world in general. (Think Butterfly Effect) Therefore, I can and do make a difference. So what if I can't see it. Not seeing it happen doesn't mean it's not happening.

I think the spirit needs to be fed with more positive things than negative things. I am hyper-sensitive to the feelings and condition of others. If I allow myself I can wallow in a pool of sorrow forever just by watching the news too much. When I catch myself doing that, I step back and fill the void with something positive.

I refuse to listen to my negative voice. It's there. I think everyone has one. I just won't be buddy-buddy with mine.

I believe that if I feel the need to compare myself with others, I should compare myself to those who have less or who have it worse than me. It's amazing how rich I feel when I do that.

I know my boundaries and I'm not afraid to exercise my right to use them.

I try to give more than I receive.

I seek new experiences being sure to set myself up for success in some of those situations but not being afraid of failure if something isn't as successful as I would like.

If I don't like something, I may wallow in it for a while, but then I get proactive.

I am fully aware that I have a choice in everything and I exercise it. When I am slow to do it, I forgive myself.

Not only do I try to learn from my mistakes, but I try to learn from those of others.

I try to not be duplicitous in my value system.

I try not to get too bent out of shape over something, but if I do, I try not to hold onto it for too long.

I believe that what you put out into the universe will come back to you.

The world you live in is a reflection of who you are. If you want the world to be a better place, be a better person.

I get excited thinking about the potential that is contained within one person, one moment, one brain cell, one lifetime. Absolutely amazing!

I try to laugh often.

I keep something huggable close at hand.
