Then it dawned on me. He's been reading journals when I'm out at work. He read about Trish and Andi's new digs and all the decorating going on there. It seems he also stumbled upon Tara's journal and saw the cool place she found. I think the final straw was when he saw me move in the bed and couch here. You see, the bed I mentioned in an earlier entry, I ended up getting. It's an exact replica of the bed that I have been lusting over in the Pottery Barn catalogue for the past several years. Except instead of spending nearly a grand to get it, I paid two hundred bucks for it from someone who had it posted on Craigslist. Woohoo!!
But, that left poor Rusty depressed and angry. I think he thought of me as a slumlord. I couldn't have that, so I went out and got Rusty some new digs too. It's about four times as big as his last place and so much prettier too. After all, it's blue!
He seems quite happy now swimming around. I think the other day I even heard him singing the theme song from "The Jeffersons." You know the one - "Movin' on Up." I think his favorite line is "Fish don't fry in the kitchen."
