Mish-Mash

I have writers block. I can't think of a darn thing to write about. I usually write about what's on my mind but when it's work and I feel like I can't write about it here, it leaves me blank. Plus the fact that I wasn't feeling well this past week and I just feel plain tired. It's raining. I'm unmotivated to even try and write. It's just blah, blah, blah. Blech!

So, I thought I'd post this collage of pics from the Yak Yak Sistahhood weekend. It's nice to reflect on good times when your mind is mush.

There are many things about the weekend that I hope will be imprinted on my memory for a long time to come, but I know two things that I will never forget.

1)   Upon first meeting Gigi, she said, "I'd recognize you anywhere." I liked that because it made me feel like I have represented myself accurately here. Funny, because until recently Gigi was only a cartoon character to me but I think I would have recognized her anywhere too. She looks just like her caricatures and she is as classy and witty as I thought whenever I read her journal.

2)   Andrea letting out a rip-roaring howl from the back seat of my convertible as we were driving down Venice Blvd, followed by one of her monkey-barking laughs. I found out it was the first time she had ever been in a convertible. I think it was a release of all the excitement of the whole adventure for her, not just the ride. But, I'm sure glad I got to hear it. She's not exactly a loud-mouthed crazy like me. So it was quite the enjoyment to see someone full of such zeal. I wish I could muster a tenth of it right about now.

You guys look like you had so much fun. I need a girls weekend away like that. LOL I guess I'd better find a fun group of friends first. ;-)

Love the collage. Will peak around it even more. Just took a quick glance. I'm not writing. I have nothing to say either. Don't know why. Not sure if I'm quitting altogether yet.

It sounds like a great weekend!

I have had writers' block too...mainly because life has been so stressful and I don't want to scare away readers with the details...

Great pictures. My sympathy on the writers block. I think there's something about winter. Although, you guys have been getting most of our wet weather, let's all hope for Spring.  :-)

What a beautiful collage of the "girls"!  Sounds like a great time was had by all!  How I wish I could do something like this as an adult and not a 20something.  It would make it much more special I think!  Thanks for sharing!  Hope you feel better soon!  :)
Hugs and love, Lisa

You obviously invested a lot of creative energy in assembling this collage.  I'm so jealous (of the weekend and the collage...)  It sucks that you don't feel you can write about work issues in your blog.  Probably wise, though. Personally, I'm sure I'd spill all that stuff into my j (if I had a job) and end up getting fired or really hurting someone's feelings.

And hey....give us back our weather!  :D  Lisa  :-]

well.  i've been away from here for faaaaar toooooo long.  i'm going to have to go way back and read a bunch of stuff.  just did read the yak yak stuff, and there is no way on earth to convey to you how jealous i am that you live close enough to so many journalers to plan a weekend like this.  we're going to have to get an east coast hullabaloo together pretty soon.  i have a big house - it's near the beach, maybe i'll have to do some housecleaning and get busy on this.  what a blast, how wonderful for all of you.  your writer's block will clear up, at least mine usually does.  and until then,  just give us some inspirational quotes, or quizzes, you know - filler.  it's fun too.  i'm sorry to have been away so long, life just gets too busy.  god how i wish i could get paid for this!!

Ach, Robbie, with the couple of weeks you've had lately, it's no surprise that you don't feel like writing. ::pat, pat::

That said, I'm so glad that primal cry came out of me in the back of your car! Totally took ME by surprise, too, which is why I was laughing my fool head off in the photo DiAnne snapped just after I squealed. You know the one -- she posted it in one of her entries and there's me and Carol in the back. I laugh just looking at it.

Next time, I'll drive and YOU can do the wild woman cry. (Heh. If my driving doesn't scare it out of you, nothing will.)

Aww...thank you, sweetie.  That's why we love you here in Toon Town!  You're such a lovely and generous woman.

And lovin' the collage!  When you feel like you can't write, there's always another creative window to open.  My brother told me there's a free Picasa 2 download.  Think I'll try it soon.  :)

I wish I had the opportunity to meet you, Trish, Dianne and Andrea.  You all seem to be such wonderful people.  I'm so glad you had such a great time together.

And I can relate to Andrea.  While I HAVE been in a convertible, driving around in LA would be a first for me.

Take care of yourself.

Love you,

Bridgett

I love reading the yak-yak reminiscings (sp?)  I have a lot of idea's of who each person is as well, from their journals.    It's nice to read  everyone's first encounters. :)

and who put Freee on the steps?   In my house, that's a place for time out's. LOL.

[ok, what is UP with journals? I swear I commented here the other day.  This is not the first 'missing comment' but it might be the first sign of brainfog.  dang mold.]

Anyway ... LOVE the collage.  Brings me right back.  So much fun.  All those moments, each tells a unique story.  I remember Gigi saying that too.  When I read the words here, I could totally hear her voice.  Trippy.

And I missed that moment with Andi's howl.  [only so much room in a sporty convertible].  But I do remember her giving a howl in Venice, on our way back from the Firehouse Cafe.  Uh-huh!  I do. I do.  It was completely unexpected ... and primal indeed.  Right on.

No worries about writer's block.  Just look at is as you're honing your craft.  It's the ebb of life.  A necessary part of the creative process.

LOL at Sharky's comment.  Yeah, what WAS I doing on the stairs?

Every month when you go to write that car payment check, reread this entry and check out the photo of Andi screaming in delight.  That convertible is worth every penny!
