Acquiescing

You want a frontal view? You've got it. I am not thrilled with any of these pics but my fan club and mother must be satisfied. I think the top is a little too long. It's not quite capturing enough wave on its own. Since I don't have a blow dryer for my diffuser yet, I decided to just scrunch my hair. It worked pretty darn good but by the end of the day my hair fell pretty flat. I'm sure hairspray and more scrunching would have fixed it but as you can see by the mess on my desk, I have better things to do during the day.

My new 'do was a shocking hit though. The President and one of the VPs had a meeting in the conference room yesterday which is located right next to my office. They popped their heads in to say hi and were floored. They fawned over my new look and even stopped by afterwards to fawn some more. Later, I was in a meeting with the President and Accounting Manager discussing some changes I would like to make in my department and he stopped mid-sentence to tell me, once again, how much he liked the new look. Oh, and he seemed to be pleased and impressed with my ideas as well.

In case my regular readers didn't catch it, I mentioned my mother in the first sentence. Yes, she has found my journal. My poopy mouth will have to be cleaned up. No more bitchin' until after Christmas. I'm no fool, I want to rake in some good presents from Santa-ma. I'm not quite sure who let the cat out of the bag, she won't fess up. I've threatened to post baby pictures of the culprit but it has fallen on deaf ears. Then, I realized I was going about this the wrong way. If I want her to spill the beans I need to make an appeal to her sensibility. I must threaten her where it hurts the most. So, pardon me a moment while I address my mother:  Mom, if I don't have names within 48 hrs, pictures of you without makeup, in your bathrobe, will be plastered for all the world to see.

I'm expecting a phone call, or two, any moment. So, I better go now. :-D

I love the cut! You look great.  That mother blackmail sounds pretty effective.  Remind me to burn all unflattering pictures.

It looks great.  You remind me of a certain movie/tv star.  When it comes to me, I'll let you know!

I really like it short-and it'll gat easier to deal with after a little practice. I've always been sorry my Mom won't touch a computer, but now I'm relieved!. Margo

Robbie...It looks great!!!! My daughter was very impressed, first that you cut all that hair off, then gave it to locks of love and then she got to see the result... I am hoping that she would do something like that, since she has wave in her hair and she has so much of it... very thick hair..... I love it!!!!

Two thumbs up from this hetero, albeit aging, male. You are now officially eye candy. Try to tone down the intelligence, we males find it distracting ;-)
Locks of Love...great thing to do.   Paul

Stunning!!!!!!!!!!!  I absolutely think you are one of the very few women who look BETTER with short hair!  I don't know if you can hide the intellect though...it kinda makes you look....well.....smart....LOL.

Go easy on Mama....ya know she had to read your journal once she found out you had one. (I would love to find my daughter's LOL...I know she has one but she has so many blasted names I can't find it!....)

Forgot to comment on your desk...it looks a lot like mine.  I complained to Bossy once about the desk being overloaded...he just brought in an ADDITIONAL desk for me....go figure!

You know.... Your personality is what makes you so special, you just happen to have the good looks to go along with it. As for your mom, If you want santa ma to be nice, you'd better not push the threats too much at least til after christmas hahaha Then show the pictures anyway, just for laughs. Oh I'm being so mean today. But mothers have to be careful not to have those kinds of pictures laying around hahaha No, really, the hair doo looks great. Hugs Lanny

You have my kind of hair. What I found is that a shorter top does help and also spray gel. Get a good one, they aren't all created equally. I prefer the dry look. If you use the gel for the dry look, us a little with the blow dryer wherever you want thickness. I do it for height on top. If you prefer the wet look, just put it on top, for sure, and here and there so you can achieve that wet look. I'm very bad with my hair.....not good at styling and the gel saves me. I use Samy's.
I happen to like the picture on the right. You're beautiful with long or straight hair anyway. : )

Your new do looks great... I can't believe that you cut the long hair.. but the short look really looks good on you and make you look younger...

Hi there.  I love stopping by your journal and had to leave a comment this time and tell you how much I love your new hair cut.  I know all about natural curl and once you get a hair dryer that your diffuser will attach to you'll be oh so happy.

Cute, cute, CUTE!  All you need to look just like the picture you chose to demonstrate your new "do" is a little weave.  A few highlighty streaks and you'll be SO with it.  What am I saying...what the hell do I know about what's "with it" these days.  In fact, it's probably the kiss of death if I say I like your hair.  So I'll say it sucks...that way you know it's REALLY nice!  (Huh?)  LOL!  Lisa  :-]

soooo impressed!!!!
the short hair really draws attention to those beautiful eyes of yours!  do they need more attention?? ofcourse!
It sounds like your turning many heads..... :D

I love it! A little hair mousse will help keep the volume up so you don't fall flat as fast by the end of the day. :-)  I need a hair cut too. Mine is too long and all the life has been dragged out of my hair. Where did you find that photo you used as inspiration for your stylist? -B

You look marvelous! You really do. You had beautiful hair but this cut suits you , it gives you a professional yet feminine look. I simply love it! I would just run some mooose sp? or styling gel through your hair and scrunch it or blow dry it. The bangs really soften your lovely face. Kudos to the person who cut it! Nelle

so - have you yet found the perpretrator of this heinous breach of daughterly privacy?  i do hope so.
anyway, i've just been strolling through your most recent ten entries, catching up with your life.  i've been so out of touch.  i like your new look, indeed i do.   years ago i had hair i could sit on, in my late teens through my twenties.  gave it up though, when i started really daily going-to-a-job.  now i keep my hair as short as i can, and really would shave it like sinead o'connor or grace jones if i looked like they do.  you have to be dropdead gorgeous to get away with that look.  that you donated your locks for a good cause is impressive, it's the one reason i have wished to have long enough locks to do any good.  i don't think i ever will though.  for years i had a braided tail at the nape of my neck, just for fun, which i finally got rid of last spring.  it had gotten really long, rebraiding it was a pain.  i put the cutoff braid in my compost bin.  a different kind of good cause.

Wow Robbie, what a great change!!  You look so good--no wonder you  impressed your coworkers.

I love it, Robbie! Really. I bet it makes you seem even taller. (You're so brave to take the plunge, too. Wow! That was a lot of hair.)

And hee, hee about your mom. I'll have to read back through the comments to see if she spilled.

I loved the back, but I adore the whole look.  Love it!

Ah...you're adorable!  It's young, it's kicky, it's sophisticated...I love it!

And don't you feel like you've just lifted the weight of the world off your shoulders?  Long hair is lovely, but short hair is...fun!  (Unless you let your husband cut it, of course..;)

When I want volume and not a lot of curl, I use gel or wax spray and large velcroe rollers on the top & sides.  It air dries in minutes ~ the look is sleek and polished, it works wonders and is relatively blow dryer & care-free...  :)

Love it, love it, love it! I think the shorter look really works great on you!

Robbie!!!!      It makes my heart sing whenever a woman is brave enough to give her hair away!  Yeah for you and the new look is too lovely!

Yep, I agree with everyone, you really look cute with the new 'do!  I can see where product and fussing would have an effect though, good luck with that!  As for Mom, hey, you're a grownup now, you can say what you want, IMO... (I don't hear my Mom's critiques from Heaven, thank Goddess)  --Albert

I haven't combed through the 43 other comments yet to find out if I've already commented here.  But I remember reading this and LOVING your haircut immediately.  I was away so I didn't get to comment in most journals...

Anyway ... I do, I love your haircut.  I understand the flat-falling hair thing.  Get Aveda's "Be Curly" and some gel.  That's all you need.  No hairspray!  Then I have a few tips about haircare if you're interested.

I don't think the front is too long.  It's a great cut.  Remember, give it 14 days before you make any harsh judgments about it.  Your hair is in a state of shock for two weeks after a cut - especially such a drastic (beautiful) cut.

So, I'm assuming your mom coughed up some names.  I haven't seen any bathrobe-wearing-makeupless-faces around these parts. ;)  [Hi Robbie's Mom]

It looks adorable!!!  And also very professional.  Amazing what a difference a haircut makes, right?  Love it!!   And Hi to Robbie's Mom!!  :D
