Festivities? What festivities?

I stayed home today because I'm not feeling too well. Actually, I am feeling a little better than I was last night. But, that's not the dominating issue in my life right now. I was online reading journals and getting excited about the AOL-J anniversary celebrations. I was thinking about doing a special entry today to show my J-Land spirit, maybe even break down and create a float for the parade, fly my flag, and all that good stuff. I was in the middle of  catching up on Judith's journal (she's the artist of the beautiful torch to the right) when an IM came in from my cousin.

My mom was taken to the hospital.  She couldn't reach me because my line is busy when I am on my computer. (Dial-up stinks!) It seems my mom is experiencing shortness of breath and tightness in the chest. I'm really kind of worried probably mostly because I don't know what I can do to help her. I thought about jumping on a plane and going to see her but I realize that's an irrational thought. So, I am in a wait and see mode right now.  However, it doesn't make for a fun place to hang out. I'm not really in the festive J-Land mode. But, hopefully, all will work out and I can do something nice for the celebrations in a day or two. Please keep my mother in your thoughts and prayers. I know I've moaned about her here and she's not a perfect person. But, she's my mother, the only one I'll ever have, and I do love her. Peace.

Robbie, I will pray that all is well with your Mom.  I do hope so.  You seem to be a concerned loving daughter.  You used good judgement to wait and see what is going on.  Your a sweetheart and I do hope all works out. Hope you get to feeling better....john

Will certainly keep your mother in thought and in prayer. Hopefully, it's nothing serious and can be easily treated with medications. It's hard to live at a distance and not know the right thing to do. I hope they keep you informed often.

God bless,
Angela

Robbie, I'm so sorry about your mother.  You, she and your family are in my prayers.  There are few things worse than wait and see mode about a family member.  Take care of yourself, and keep us posted.

I will add your mother and the rest of your family to my prayer list.  Wait and see mode is never fun and it seems like we are in the same boat.  My mom's recovery is up and down from her heart surgary and she is having breathing probs.  If you havnt seen your mom in awhile, this may be a good time to pay her a visit.  Dont put it off, we are not promised tomorrow.

Much Love,
Mary

I know I've moaned about her here and she's not a perfect person. But, she's my mother, the only one I'll ever have, and I do love her. Peace. <~~ I know how you feel about that, hon. I've mentioned too many times to count about my relationship with my mom in my journal. True love is when you love deep, in spite of the past hurts and imperfections. As a mother, I understand how awesome it is to be loved by someone so much, even though you've made many mistakes that affected them along the way. No mother is perfect, we just do the best we know how, and pray for forgiveness in the long-run :)

I'm glad she's doing better now. I'll keep her and you in my prayers.
take care!

I am sorry to hear about your mother.  Hopefully she's doing better.  But of course you're worried sick about her.  In spite your differences, you are family.

As for missing important calls when you're online, may I suggest Callwave.  I used this before I got DSL, and it worked beautifully.  It lets you hear incoming messages right on your computer.  Here's the link:
