Robbie's Ramblings

So much going on, and yet not really much at all. I apologize for being out of the loop. Everything comes to a head at the end of  the semester. I'm super busy at work and school stuff all becomes due in a hurry to finish up the semester. I am behind on my journal reading but have begun to play the catch up game. I hope to be all caught up by the time this weekend is over. There are some journals that I am 20+ entries behind on!

I've been messing with the look of my journal.  I'm not really all that happy with it. When I selected this background color it was grouped with the blues but it has more of a purple-ish tone to it so I'm leaning towards purple accents and I'm not a purple person. I'm a blue person. I actually thought about going white and even tried it but it has such a harsh feel about it. It's just not me. I like it to feel warm and comforting here. I'll mess with it more as time goes by.

I changed the pic in my "About Me" section. It's not the greatest but at least it is more recent. The one I had there was from last June. The pic I have there now is my work-day segue into class look. I'm disheveled, my make-up is smeared, my face is shiny and I am beat. That's my Tuesday night look. Oh, and yes, I wear glasses. I work in an enclosed environment and stare at a computer screen all day. As such, wearing my contacts is not an option. When I do my eyes are burning and irritated by about 3:00pm. At least when I wear my glasses, it doesn't happen until about 6 or 7. I think it's more because of my make-up though then anything, even the hypo-allergenic kind doesn't help. There have been times where I've actually had to pull off the road as I'm driving home from work because my eyes begin burning so bad that I am blinded, not in an everything goes black kind of way but in a watery, blurred vision kind of way.

You are probably wondering why I have the picture of drinks here. Tuesday was my last class for the semester. Yeeha! We got out of class early and met up for drinks to celebrate the end of the semester. It was nice but I ended up leaving much earlier than everyone else. Sitting around for too long makes me restless. So, I came home and tried to read a few journals. I was so sleepy that I began falling asleep as I was reading entries. As such, I didn't getvery far. I woke yesterday after getting 8hours of sleep. It was so nice! It's probably the first full night's sleep that I have had since my vacation in December. I knew we were going for drinks Tuesday so I took a vacation day on Wednesday. I figured I would have stayed out late and didn't want to be hurting the next day at work. Little did I know I would be home before 10pm! I guess I'm getting old. The party girl of yester-years has left me.

It was weird having off during the week. I felt like I should stay home and pretend like I was sick, kind of like I was playing hooky. But, I didn't. I went to the dog-park and hung out with Freee as she did her thing. I got a chance to give her the birthday present I got for her.  I knew I would arrive before her so I bought a book while on the way so I could read it while I waited. It's the one I have listed in my sidebar. I look forward to doing a review here. From what I have read so far, it is a great book. It was nice sitting outside, reading and enjoying the day. I got a little bit of a sunburn, but it feels good in a warm summery kind of way.

Well, enough of my rambling. I need to get ready for work. I will pick up my Questions for the Game of Life and my audio entries next week. I took pics yesterday so hopefully some came out okay and I can share them here. Happy Thursday!

I think this picture makes you look so stunning. And the glasses are so perfect on you. So the school is over for the time being and you can relax a little and get caught up. Well, you've been missed, and now we expect great things from you, well, ok, just that you be around more is enough :-)  Hugs and cangrats, Lanny

Welcome back.  I thought you were graduating this year.  Are you doing the whole cap and gown thing?  Lisa  :-]

I love your new about me pic!  It's warm and inviting - the energy you want to have in here.  Perfect.  Did you take the pic of the drinks?  It's great!!  Let me know how that book turns out.  It does sound interesting.  And, I noticed last night, that I got a lot of sun - plus a bit of a shoulder burn.  I thought about how red your shoulder was and wondered how it was feeling last night.  But it's great when it's that warm 'summery' feeling.  I had fun.  Come to the dogpark again!  [how did the pics of sparky and hunny turn out?]

Hey, it looks good! I love it. someday, I am going to have to figure out how some of you are spice-ing up your all about me sidebar.  I can barely get a few objects in mine.
The pic looks good!  Looks like your ready to hang out, have tea or whatever and discuss a few things. :)
And I can't get words to the side of my picture either, that really chaffs my hide! lol. oh, well.
love that picture by the way, mmmmm. looks like a good night to me!  ha ha

and congrats on that last class and getting 8 hours of sleep!! :D

I was so excited by the picture of those margaritas that I almost turned off the computer & ran to the kitchen for my blender. But I don't have a blender, so I'll just have to go out for Mexican food tonight!! WOOOOT!

Love the new pic !!

I like that new pic, you look very professional and businesslike.  I wear glasses too, but only when I drive.

Yay, school is over, you sure deserve to have drinks!  I don't think you're getting old at all, probably the exhaustion of the whole semester just caught up with you.

Sounds like another great SoCal day with Freee.  =P

A big PHEW on finishing this semester!!!  You deserve to relax and sleep an entire 8 hours!!!  It's also nice to see you writing about "normal" everyday sort of things instead of trying to cram in an entry while doing 10 papers and reading 10 required reading books for the next class!  I am so jealous that you got to go to the park and not only read under the wonderful sunshine but hang out with Freee!!  Oh, the life of a single woman!  From what I read and hear, it isn't so bad now is it?!  And, by the way, I absolutely LOVE the new "About Me" pic!  There is nothing whatsoever wrong wtih glasses!!  You look marvy darling!!!
Hugs and love, Lisa

Robbie! Much to celebrate! I'll have one of those drinks and catch up on my reading, here... I think it's been a week since I was able to visit. The day at the dog park sounds so fun! Glad that you and freee were able to spend some time together. ::sigh:: wishing I was in LA. And I don't mean, 'lower alabama' :P I'm ready to leave Bama for a while and see a different scene.

I love your picture in your 'about me' section. Also, the new colors. [I like purple/blue tones] I better get back to your journal. I have some catching up to do :)
have a happy weekend!

That drink looks great, and normally I'd be planning my schedule around one at this very moment, but alas, I'm getting bored with the chaos. I think perhaps I'm getting old too. I hope your day off was as blissful and refreshing as it sounds.
I'm sure you've thought about laser surgery? I'm writing Santa Claus in hopes he can cram a Lasik machine and eye surgeon in my stocking this Christmas. I'm so friggin sick of contacts, and glasses hurt my nosey. <sigh> As my mom used to say, when my ship comes in, I hope I'm not at the airport.

I love your new look!!!  It is warm and inviting.  And I love your new picture too, although you seem a bit serious and I don't think of you that way.  Ah, and the margaritas...wish I could sit down with you and drink a pitcher full!!!!

I'll tell ya Robbie, it's insane how many comments you get! I wish I got that many. Then again, your journal is leagues above mine. I would venture to say that it kicks the crap out of mine. In fact, your journal regularly shoves my journal into a locker, flicks it in the forehead, and steals its lunch money...AND it gives it a swirlie!
Good work and keep on keepin' on,

I like the new look, it's peaceful.  The margarita's are a nice touch and I hope you are honestly having one right about now!

Are you trying to make us teetotalers fall off the wagon? (yes, believe it or not I gave up this ONE addiction due to some meds I take).  Hoping Krobbieville gets more relaxing real soon... :-)  Albert

I like the ABout Me pic! And frankly, I'm a little jealous that you guys out in Cali get to meet up with one another on a regular basis like that. WHere was AOL J when I lived in LA? LOL! :-)

LANNY: Thanks. I actually have two other pairs of glasses that I also wear so my look is never the same depending upon my mood. Yeah, I can relax a bit but I have so much catching up to do in my life that I feel a little overwhelmed.

MLRAMINIAK – LISA: I guess you got your answer. I did indeed graduate and wear the cap and gown. I still have one more Finance class to take this summer though or they won’t give me my sheep’s skin.

FREEE:  I didn’t take the pic of the drinks. It’s from one of my stockfoto CDs. I’ll be doing a review on the book soon. I finished it and loved it. I think you would definitely like it. It’s a very easy flowing read too.

BABYSHARK: Thanks. I sent the email with the info. Hollar if I can help. I’m not the greatest at explaining things though. I’m thinking about doing an entry one of these days to reveal my secrets on different things. I get a lot of questions on how I have done this or that. And, me a non-techy isn’t the best person to ask but I’m willing to help however I can.

STEPHWEISS: I had two Desert Pear Margaritas that night. They were so very tasty. I have been craving a margarita ever since. I need to buy a blender myself.

HOLLY:  It seems my dance card is always full. Unfortunately, it’s usually with the mundane.  I’m still not sure of the new look, I’ll be tweaking it as I go along.

VINCE: Thanks! You are always so kind.

MUSE: It was a great SoCal day. I am tired still that’s why I know I’m getting old. It takes me longer to bounce back it seems. I probably look professional because I come directly from work to class. My classmates yesterday morning at graduation said wow your make-up looks so nice. I couldn’t figure out why since they’ve seen me tons of times with make-up and I didn’t do anything different. Then it dawned on me. It was freshly applied where they get the end of the day grimy look usually.

GGAL: Thanks! I have a strawberry margarita mix in my cabinet that’s been there forever. I’m not a big drinker these days so the stuff just sits. It would help if I had a blender too.

CARLY: Thanks! What’s your poison? One cocktail coming right up.

LISITA – LISA: Thanks for stopping by. I will be by your journal again soon. I’m still playing catch up and I’m almost there until the next thing occurs to get me off track. LOL

LISBNJVI – LISA: It’s all in the perspective. The grass always appears to be greener on the other side of the fence until you have to mow it!

KATE: That song keeps going through my head now. Thanks! But, actually, I will be taking one more class this summer but not the first session. It starts next week and I am not ready to dive in yet.

CONNIE: Sorry for being such a tease with the drinks. They do look good though don’t they? ::slurp::

ROBIN: I had two for you woman! Not sure if I’m fully back yet though. Such a mess to clean up at the end of the semester. My car needs a major cleaning and so does my apartment for that matter!

RRVEH1: I love your poetic comments. Those be the most refreshing!

MIA: Thanks! I loved your lower Alabama comment. You are a hoot! It would be nice one day for us all to meet and have a bunch of margaritas.

JAMEY: It was indeed. I’m too chicken to do the lasix. It’s not 100% effective. I’d probably a member of the 1% to go wrong and since it’s my only eyes, I’ll stick with the glasses. Call me a wimp. I don’t care. I’m a big baby. Wah!!

KAREN: Warm and inviting is what I aim for so I guess I’m on target. I’m glad to hear that. Thank you! I am hardly serious. Well maybe at work but even there I am always cutting up. Life’s too short not to laugh a lot!

J: I appreciate the compliment but like I told you if it were based on content mine would stand in the corner in shame compared to yours. You have a wonderful way with words. Now update already!

PIPPE: Peaceful. Cool! That’s why I like blue so much. To me it’s a very peaceful, soothing color.

ALBERT: I’m sorry for the temptation luv. I’m not much of a drinker myself so I understand.

GREGG: Where are you now that I live in L.A.? One day you’re going to have to grace us with a visit. Puhlease.
