New Feature to Robbie's Ruminations

In the past, I haven't responded to comments much in my journal. Typically, if something compelled me, I would email a person, especially if they asked a question. I tried doing what others do and reply in my comments but it was too hard and confusing. But, I think I finally figured out how to do it pain-free.

I can copy the comments to notepad and answer them there. Then I can cut and paste the answers back here. I gave it a try on my last entry. It worked pretty good. So, check back if you so desire. :-)

And in answer to your question from the last entries comments: I like the idea of the email alerts much better than the actual alerts themselves, especially when I get behind on reading. There's just too frickin many of them. As long as I stay on top of things, they're a godsend. :-)

Now why does that sound like MORE work to me??? I guess it was the copy and cut and paste thing...(I'm learning--but I'm slow)!!!

GREGG: Sometimes the idea is better than the reality. However, I bet the reality of you is sooooooo much better than the idea. LOL I'm sticking with bloglines. It's amazing! I just can't figure out how they make money. There's no ads and they don't charge you for the service. I'm waiting for the shoe to drop once they have me hooked.

KAREN: It's actually very easy, especially now that there is the expanded character limit for leaving comments. Have you considered taking a class at a community college? Sometimes it's so much easier if someone just sits down and shows you. And, I would say you're doing a pretty darn good job of learning. Hang in there!

Looks incredible, Robbie! I sometimes feel like I too, should comment about the comments (how confusing) but I truly just don't have the time. It's certainly not that I don't appreciate them. I do! I'm like a giddy little kid everytime someone leaves me a message. =) Maybe one of these days.

BRIDGETT: I think we should each do what we feel capable, or comfortable, with doing in our journals. I just realized that a lot of times I was emailing several people regarding a comment and felt that maybe I should give it a try to respond within my journal in hopes to save a little time and have more communication with those individuals kind enough to leave comments. However, for me, this journal is continuously evolving. Who knows what I’ll decide tomorrow.

From the very beginning I've answered each and every comment in my main journal. It's challenging keeping it up, especially when I come back in a few days and realize I have tons of comments.

I'm glad you are doing it too, it'll be interesting what kind of ongoing conversation you will have going here. =P

That's exactly what I've started doing. It does make a big difference and saves a load of time :) I never had time before.

MIA: I’m giving it a go. I think it would be nice to have a direct interaction. In the past I’ve done it a little or would email someone about something here and there. But, I noticed on other sites where people are doing it I was learning so much more about them from reading their responses to other people too.

MUSE: You have been quite diligent and a wonderful example. I always enjoyed getting your personal emails. I’ve done emails some but don’t know how you could have responded to everyone both in your journal and through emails. So much work! I’m feeling a little overwhelmed right now because I have so many comments to respond to. But, I’m going to try and stick with this.
