Somewhere Over the Rainbow

As I was leaving work yesterday to head to my first night of classes, it was raining but the sun was also shining. I thought how nice it would be to see a rainbow. I haven't seen one in years. I then recalled a comment I received in my journal. It came from Babyshark. She said " I pray for an unending stash of cash for you (I hear it's somewhere under the rainbow)."

On my trek to school, I drive through a canyon that cuts through the Santa Monica mountains. As I rounded a corner, a rainbow appeared off in the distance. It appeared to be shining down on a building in the valley that laid ahead. I could actually see where the rainbow ended. I wanted to go and see if my unending supply of cash would reside there. But, a dilemna I did face. I needed to go directly to school. I had no time to waste.

I continued to wind my way through the canyon and the rainbow would appear in the distance where the view was unobstructed by the trees and mountains. After making my way through the canyon, I stopped at a gas station to fill up my car before getting on the highway to continue my journey to school. I looked up to see if the rainbow was still around. Low and behold, it was now a double rainbow.

Like the responsible adult that I have grown to become, I plodded on to school. However, along the way I got to see the rainbow from time to time as I drove. Oh how I wished I could search out the end of that rainbow. As I arrived to campus, the night had begun to set in and the rainbow was now gone. But, it was then that I realized that I had indeed found the end of my rainbow.

School is where I will find my unending supply of cash. It has equipped me with the ability to earn a better living. But, it's even more than just the cash. It has opened a world of possibilites, hopes, and ideas, to me. In addition, as I have the finish line of my goal in sight, I realize that somewhere over the rainbow dreams really do come true.

Yippy I'm the first comment =). Krobbie, I once saw 15 rainbows in a single day, it was the most unbelievable event and I will never forget it. You are so inspiring, and if you had not had the determination, dedication and smarts to see what you wanted to achieve your goals, you would still be trying to chase that rainbow. But, you see the pot of "gold" and it's within sight, and your dreams are coming true. Got get it girl!

Beautiful picture. I love rainbows. When I lived in Florida, I would see them all the time. I see them less frequently here, but everytime I see one, I consider it good luck. It works.

Hey sweetie - wow, my friend called to tell me about this exact double-rainbow! Wonderful! I love when things like this happen. Where are you schooling? For some reason I thought it was Northridge...that just seems so far. Maybe I missed something. :) Great entry! xo

Great entry, Robbie, you summed it up so well. I've read somewhere that gaols are dreams with a deadline, and you sure have set specific goals that have now brought you nearer to that stash of cash! I've always thought that education is a form of wealth in itself, an asset that no one can ever take away from you.

Rainbows beeing fleeting, always remind me to stop for a moment and enjoy life, which in the bigger scheme of the universe only lasts for a "moment".
