What happened to the concept of Plug & Play?

I've had my computer since October.  I bought my printer/scanner/copier a couple of years ago and have used it on other computers. As such, I know it worked just fine. However, I have spent an immense amount of time trying to get it to work with my new computer. Technology is suppose to be a timesaver but it seems like it's more of a timesucker. But, today, I thought I'd give it another go. Yeah!!! It worked. My computer is now talking to my printer and they've got a nice little conversation going. I can now print and scan again. Yeeha!!!

The above picture was my test scan. I thought everyone would be interested in seeimg me back in my Army days. Unfortunately, the quality isn't the greatest but I wanted to save it as a .jpg, since I have it on good authority (Muse) that it downloads faster for the viewer than .bmp.

This picture is of my roommates and I at basic training.  I'm the girl with the geeky dark framed glasses. We called those glasses "Birth Control Glasses." Because, no guy would come near you while wearing those. My bunkmate didn't have to wear them because she had a special waiver since the Army couldn't duplicate her prescription. I am 17 years old. I was the youngest out of everyone in the platoon.

Now, I'll have to hunt down some pics of my Grandmom. Oh boy, I feel like a kid in a candy store. Teeheehee.

Reminds me of my dads old navy pics. He had the same glasses. He looked very very dorkish. Yet my mom fell in love with him.

LMAO!!! And here I thought my friends made up the term "BC Glasses!" LOL! Yay! More pics!!! I'm being hella lazy with the pics thing. You're so right about things seemingly becoming more difficult instead fo easier. I just glanced over some digital camera instructions and I'm not amused. LOL!

Hehe...I think you look cute in your 'birth control glasses!' Only 17 and in the military...my gosh! That's so young. I would have been petrified. Congrats on getting that chat going with your computer and printer. I've been having a blast with mine as well. (As you can probably tell from all the pictures of Parker in my journal. ) LOL

Heyyy now people, glasses can be sexy (I have that on good authority, ahem). This is a cool pic, you almost make basic training look (gulp) fun.

Robbie, Robbie, PCs don't really have Plug and Play, D. likes to call it Plug and PRay, lol.
