The Middle East is a centuries-old catfight over theology, led by psycho-Mullah's with access to bio-chem and other warfare devices. We can choose to let them lie and suffer centuries more of death and genocide for religious reasons, or we can hunt them to extinction to keep a few million people alive to have a choice in their own future. But what the hell, we were late going after Hitler and it only cost the world 10 million people. Hitler never attacked us, right?
Please thank your bro for his service to our country.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8658575.post-66858147786344166452004-04-14T15:45:00.000-07:002004-04-14T15:45:00.000-07:00From the looks of other posters response to this e...From the looks of other posters response to this entry....it would appear that not everyone thinks alike. My son just turned 18 and he had to register in case they decide to draft again. I can't tell you what that does to my heart. If your brother feels this way, think of all the men and women serving over there right at this moment and how they must feel! It's just awful thinking about this, and don't get me wrong, I try hard not to, but it is getting to the point where you can't turn away anymore. Something needs to be done and it needs to be done immediately! What though? We can't boycott Bush out of the Presidency because of this? All I can do is not vote for him in November, and you can guarantee that I won't be!
Hugs and love, LisaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8658575.post-45189725845369777002004-04-14T19:49:00.000-07:002004-04-14T19:49:00.000-07:00Awesome pic, Robbie! Thank you so much for sharing...Awesome pic, Robbie! Thank you so much for sharing your brother's sentiments. I don't agree entirely with him, but I feel his angst and that is all that really matters. Reagan was one of my favorites presidents and the facts that big bro served under him makes a big bro worthy of respect. :-) I hate war. I hate that we are involved in one now. But I also hate what has happening historically in the Middle East... I suppose the dilemma for all of us is which we hate more... My son is only 10. If he were 18 I would be terrified that he would be sent overseas... I don't want to be the mother of a soldier who is sent to war. That's me being selfish, honestly. At the same time, though, I have the greatest respect and admiration and I am VERY thankful for the efforts of every soldier who is there, now, and my heart goes out to their families. So, you see, I don't agree entirely with your big bro but I also don't disagree entirely with him, either. Keep on writing, girl!! :) Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8658575.post-68034104786746507422004-04-14T23:53:00.000-07:002004-04-14T23:53:00.000-07:00RE Iraq turning into "another Viet Nam...&quo...RE Iraq turning into "another Viet Nam..." I don't think we'll get off that lucky. THIS battle will be brought to OUR shores. Invading Iraq was a completely idiotic thing to do... inexcusable in this day and age for a superpower to throw its weight around in such a unilateral manner. And we will suffer for it by the proliferation of terror, because that is how the small and "powerless" make themselves felt by the powerful. What a mess! He's not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. Yet still there are those that would rather see him continue to blunder his way through this mess he's gotten us into and for what? I know the answer to that but I'm asking in hopes that some others will actually use the brains God gave them for a change and ask themselves the same question.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
